Ending Prosecution for Profit

Founded in 1996, the Drug Task Force was a joint law enforcement unit run by the DA and police chief and based in the DA’s office.  By 2014, the Drug Task Force’s budget required fines and civil forfeitures totaling 2 million dollars annually.  In 2015, Glenn Funk and former MNPD Chief Steve Anderson closed the Drug Task Force and placed all narcotics investigations within the police department.
