July 17, 2026- A Nashville jury returned a conviction of Reckless Homicide and Felony Weapon Possession recently in the case against 45-year-old Corey Frazier. Thanks to the courageous testimony of a lone eyewitness, Nashville Assistant District Attorney Emma Lawson was able to prove that Frazier pulled a gun and shot Richard Wilder during a December 22, 2023 argument in North Nashville. Wilder was able to drive away after being shot, but crashed his pickup truck a short time later in the 1400 block of Brick Church Pike just north of downtown Nashville. Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Specialized Investigations Division and the MNPD Aviation Unit helped make the arrest several days after the shooting. The District Attorney’s Office credits MNPD and the eyewitness who came forward with helping build the case and secure the guilty conviction. Frazier faces up to 12 years in jail on the Reckless Homicide charge, and up to 20 years for the Felony Weapon Possession. He’ll be sentenced in late September before Criminal Court Judge Jennifer Smith.
